Frizzlife 3-Stage Under Sink Water Filter System Review

Everyone wants to drink clear, purified water. At the same time, everyone wants to save a buck when it comes to buying a water filter. But usually, the case is that saving money and getting a very powerful water filter don’t go hand-in-hand. The Frizzlife 3-Stage under sink water filter is created to offer both; great water filtration at a fraction of the price. Such a product like that cannot go under our radar. We had to get the Frizzlife and test it to see if it was worth the hype, and that is what we did. Here’s the review of the Frizzlife 3-stage under sink water filter.

Need For Filtration

The water supply of most of the cities in the US is fairly good if you can ignore some sediments such as sand and silt. It is what people believed until The Guardian revealed something to them. The Guardian and the Consumer did a test on the water supply that went to almost 19 million people. And let us remind you it was done on consumable, drinking water that people were drinking. The results revealed something very shocking.

The test results showed that upwards of 35% of the water sample had toxic metal contaminants, along with PFAs. Arsenic was present in over 8% of the sample above the normal levels. But the biggest shocker of all was that in 118 samples of the 120 collected samples, lead was detected. Any level of lead in water is dangerous. Not just dangerous, it is poisonous.

It is clearly a dangerous thing, a matter of concern. It is why having a filter is essential to ensure health. But can Frizzlife make sure that it cleans the water well enough to make it safe for consumption? Let’s find out.

What’s In The Box?

The unboxing experience was pretty basic, but nothing bad. You get everything you need to be presented neatly. The filter comes in the box, two hoses for the water inlet and outlet, and screws and wall unit. The filter feels expensive with the use of high-quality plastic. There is a good heft to the filters, which makes it feel very premium. The hoses are also thick and sturdy. So points to the Frizzlife for great packaging and high quality. But now, let’s come to the next step of the process; the installation.

The Installation Process

Installing the filter was very easy, and we are glad to say that anyone can do the installation. There is no need for a plumber or any professional tools to fit it. Even if you have limited space under your sink, this filter will fit easily. All you need is a wrench and screwdriver to fit it in. You might require a drill if you want to hang the filter unit on the cabinet wall.

One of the two hoses connects with the waterline. This hose goes to the filter inlet. The other hose connects to the outlet of the filter, which then connects to the faucet for the filtered water supply—simple and easy installation, totally DIY-friendly.

The Filtration

The most important part of the water filter; What makes the Frizzlife a good choice for water filtration? First, the company claims some impressive things about its filtration capacity, and if you consider the price, things get even more impressive.

The filter uses three-stage filtration to purify the water. It is not always the case, but usually, more filters mean better water filtration. The first unit is a sediment filter which is very important for removing the larger contaminants such as sand, silt, and other debris that usually comes through the piping. We have seen many filters without the sediment filter that cost more than this one. So glad to have it here.

The second and the third filter is a block carbon filter, one is activated carbon, and the other is catalytic carbon. These fillers are used to remove toxic contaminants such as lead, mercury, arsenic, and other dissolved chemicals such as chlorine, chloramine, fluoride, etc. Here are the company’s claims:

It can remove lead and chlorine by 99% and other contaminants, including fluoride, VOCs, PFAs, and improve the taste and smell of the water. The sediment filter is a 0.5-micron filter which is the industry standard, and it works perfectly. It is what the company claims. But we can’t let any claim go untested. So we did. Here’s what we found.

Filtration Test

We subjected the Frizzlife 3-stage filter to some extreme tests to see if it could deliver. We added all the possible contaminants that are found in the water, but we increased the quantity of the contaminants to an extreme level. We focused more on the sand and silt element and some heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and chlorine. Do note that there is no water supply in the US or anywhere in the world, which is as contaminated as the water sample that we used here. It is to see how much the filter can take.

After the filtration process, we tested the sample. We are glad to say that the filter works very well, both for heavy metals and dissolved chemicals. Not just that, but the sediment filter was also very good at removing the unholy amount of sand and silt that we put in the sample. Despite the heavy load, the sediment filter worked really well, removing almost 95% of the sand and silt for everyday use and the amount usually present in the water.

The filter removed all the lead in the water and almost 97% of the mercury in the heavy metals. It is not a bad number because the amount of mercury was too much. It removed all the chlorine and chloramine, along with some pesticides and other VOCs. There was a massive improvement in the smell, and for perfectly sane reasons, we did not drink the sample. But from the improvement in the smell and look, we are sure that the water was safe to consume.

Frizzlife 3-Stage Under Sink Water Filter System Review

So, in conclusion, the Frizzlife 3-stage water filter works as it claims. There were no complaints that we could find, nor any shortcomings. So we’d give it a great 4.5 stars out of 5 stars. But that is not the only good thing about the filter.

What We Loved About The filter?

Pros
  • Price
  • Great Tech Support
  • Great Flow Rate
  • Connects With The Same Faucet
  • Easy filter change
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Short filter life

Here are some of the great features of the filter that made us recommend this product.

1. Price

Coming with all the basics of filtration and providing some of the best filtrations, the Frizzlife is priced fantastically. Priced at only $125 with occasional discounts like 10% off, the Frizzlife is a steal deal. When you calculate the price to feature ratio, it comes out to be very impressive—definitely one of the best USPs of this filter.

2. Great Tech Support

One thing that matters a lot is how customer support is. As we have said before, everything is great until one day your filter stops working, and you have no idea why. Then, it is when the customer support shines, and we are happy to say that the company offers 24/7 tech support along with helpful tutorials and videos to help yourself.

3. Great Flow Rate

Frizzlife offers an impressive water flow rate of 2 gallons per minute at 60 psi. In simple, practical terms, it means that you’ll be able to fill up a cup of water or a bottle quickly—no need to stand and wait too much. A cup of around 11oz will be filled within 3 seconds.

4. Connects With The Same Faucet

You don’t have to install another faucet for the filter’s water supply. It means that all you need to do is connect the outlet pipe to the faucet and start getting filtered water. It eases the installation process and reduces the cost as well.

5. Easy filter change

Changing the filter is as easy as it gets. All you need to do is twist the filter to unlock it from the filtration unit, and that’s it. Installing the new filter is exactly the same. So please put it in and give it a twist. That’s all.

6. Easy installation

Installing the filter is very easy and can be done without the use of professional tools or a plumber. Any adult with a wrench and dexterity can do it.

What We Did Not Like?

Not all was great about this filter. However, there are a few cons about the Frizzlife, nothing sort of a deal-breaker. Here are all the things that we did not like or could have been improved.

1. Short Filter Life

We did not like the filter life of the Frizzlife. It is very short. The company recommends changing the first filter every 3-6 months, depending on the number of people in your house. The second filter should be changed every 8-12 months and the third one after every 12-18 months. So if you have a nuclear family, this one is not a good choice for you because the first filter’s life is very short. We’d even go to say that the filter would not last more than 4 months.

Frizzlife 3-Stage Under Sink Water Filter System Review

Frizzlife 3-Stage Under Sink Water Filter System is very easy to install as it connects with the same faucet, to change the filter all you need to do is twist the filter and it will unlock from the filtration unit, the water flow rate is 2 gallons per minute at 60 psi which is quite good, what makes this filter one of the best in the market apart from the 24/7 tech support is the unbelievingly affordable price that it comes in.

Conclusion

While there are some things that you may not like about this filter, the quality of filtration it provides and the price that it comes with make it one of the best filters to get. This “best filter” is only applicable if you live alone or there are just two of you. Anything more than that and the price to value goes low, mostly because of the short filter life. That’s all about this filter; Great for two, bad for more than that.
